Vierna's starter pokémon. Finally, after months, she's reached her final, friendship-triggered evolution in a fit of excitement after Vierna returned from Hisui. She is at times violently fond of her trainer and can be a little suspicious of new arrivals to the party, especially mid-leveled new pokemon (it took a few weeks for her to get used to Calfryn, not that he helped matters). Spends a fair amount of time outside her pokeball; Vierna makes a point of taking her out of town to hunt for herself on a regular basis, as she's not convinced that commercial pokemon food is really adequate for a creature whose natural diet is mostly blood.

The first pokémon that Vierna actually liked the look of well enough to throw a ball at it and not just let her starter try to bite it a bunch. He's good at finding useless junk and occasionally something that isn't completely garbage. And since evolving he's stopped running into walls nearly so often! Good job, Szin'ril.

Vierna keeps Szin'ril in her team more for his ability to find useful or valuable items than for battling, which means he spends more time casually outside his pokeball than some of her team. Selling the stuff he finds is one of her main sources of income, along with battling trainers.

Nathafay considers taking care of her trainer a very serious responsibility, as she grows - especially after evolution - she's gotten progressively less patient and more sure of herself. Get your shit together, Vierna.

Passing through Union Cave was probably the most comfortable Vierna had been so far on her journey - she'd met up with some allies from home and she was finally underground again, if only for a couple of days. And also she added another cute bat to her roster! Bae'ithra was tiny and fluffy and liked to harass Szin'ril into chasing her. After evolving, she's considerably less tiny and fluffy, and has needed some scolding to prevent her from harassing the Linoone in legitimately dangerous ways. Oops.

Vierna had been having a really rotten day what with being haunted by her dad and all, but the afternoon was brightened a little by finding a tiny fuzzy baby spider.

He's bigger now, although still not particularly big by the standards of her home city, which says more about Menzoberranzan than it does about Johto. Vierna still thinks he's downright adorable. Look at him, look at the fuzzy spider.

Vierna recieved Calfryn as an oshawott upon arriving in Hisui - and with the relatively high level she received him at, he evolved within the first couple of days. He... reminds her of certain members of her family. She's self-aware enough to recognize that, but she has no real idea what to do with it, except to encourage him in his training and quietly have a lot of emotions. His later evolution into Hisuian Samurott only intensified the resemblance to her father.

He took a while to warm up to her other pokemon after returning to Johto, but he's more or less used to not being her sole partner anymore.

Having received a Sweet Apple from the ghost pokemon haunting the castle, Vierna figured she might as well hit up the Bobbing for Applins booth and get something to use it on. Unfortunately, Quavraena turns out to be mostly uninterested in battling; Vierna lets her have her out-of-the-pokeball time in the kitchen or outdoors, weather permitting (she's far too sticky for anywhere carpeted) but doesn't spend much time actively training her.

Adinerd hatched from the egg included among the Delibird-themed gifts from Vierna's Secret Santa in the 2022 exchange. She's fairly sure she's being mocked... but she didn't have an ice type yet. Probably she will find one she likes better later, but in the meantime, she's at least not banishing him to the PC indefinitely?

Hatched from a mysterious egg that appeared on Christmas morning. Kind of spoiled, because Vierna's incredibly charmed by her and also is kind of enchanted by the fact that she'd never heard of Laelylene's species before she hatched. Now fully evolved and with a fully built giant hammer, she's no longer quite so much of a menace when it comes to scavenging for scrap metal, but still very aggressive toward other steel types and very much a spoiled brat.

She's a little perplexed by him, honestly - she's never seen a wild Honedge in the city - but he proved entirely willing to be caught, so she figures he's hers now.
